This year, we took steps towards making the recycling process even easier for our customers by adding our Standalone Haul-Away service. At the click of a button, anyone in the U.S. can now request pickup and recycling for old electronics, keeping tech, including appliances, out of landfills and giving it a second life.

Best Buy's Standalone Haul-Away service takes up to two large items, like all-in-one computers, TVs of various types, cooktops, and refrigerators. They also take an unlimited number of smaller pieces of tech and appliances, like laptops, hard drives, video game consoles, keyboards, calculators, and curling irons. But there are some things even Best Buy doesn't want, like your old 8-tracks, DVDs, Blu-rays, software, instruments, toasters, and waffle makers. While Best Buy will already get rid of your old TV and large appliance for $30 and some fitness equipment for $50 if you buy a replacement from them, the Standalone Haul-Away service doesn't require any other purchase, beyond the $160-$200 fee. It also doesn't accept fitness equipment.

It's finally time to update that aging TV with a new LG C2, Hisense U8H, or one of the other best TVs currently available. Figuring out how best to recycle or dispose of electronics properly is a pain, but it's worth it. While you might go through many TVs in your lifetime, we've only got one planet, after all. Here are some options to consider instead of simply throwing your old TV in the trash or on the curb.
